I have always enjoyed painting, rather it was watercolor, acrylics , or oil. Now, with the advent of digital painting, I have discovered a whole new world of art. Here are some of my paintings
This one I like to call "The Storm". It is a digital painting done using Corel Painter 11.
This is an oil painting I did of my first grandson, Ryan. (Oil on canvas)
I will post more of my paintings later in a slide show maybe.
Hope you enjoyed these.

Quiet Times
Sitting here tonight in the house with my husband watching TV in the next room, and my Mom sleeping in her bedroom, I feel at peace in this quiet time. All the kids are away working or living their own lives. These are the times that I can think about how my life has changed from that young teenager long ago, to a grandmother and mother. It seems like yesterday I was playing basket ball with my friends and writing short stories on my back porch on a lazy summer day.
So much has changed in my life over the past 40 years. I accepted Jesus as my savior, I got married, had children, went back to college at the age of 42, and now I'm a grandma! The Lord has blessed me so much in my life! I love Him so much and wish I could be all that I should be for Him. So many times I feel like I've failed in my role as a parent, wife and grandparent.
If you have come to this point in your life were you can look back and see all the accomplishments, and failures in your life, I hope that you have a Savior who can give you the peace, mine gives me, to forgive yourself, and to look to the future for His guidance!
We only have one life to live in this world. And in this quiet time, I'm glad to know that God has given me the best life I ever could have hoped for!

One of my Hobbies, A Marine Reef Tank!
I started on this reef tank about a year ago. I've been adding to it a little at a time. I love looking at salt water fish and especially the reef species of corals and invertebrates. This is one way I relieve the stress of working full time, and being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
The tank is a fifty-five gallon glass aquarium. I have a clown fish, a tomato clown, a couple of yellow tail damsels, a yellow clown gobie, an anemone, two leather coral frags, an arrowhead crab, and my pulsating xenias, which the grand kids are fascinated by! I hope you will join on my adventure as I add new creatures, and corals to my tank over the next year or so. I plan to have a full blown reef tank by then!

Still up and It's after Midnight.
Well, here I am, up again at a quarter to one in the morning! It seems like this is the only time I can relax and enjoy a little free time these days. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, my kids and my grand kids! But, sometimes you just need that time alone, you know?
Maybe it's just a part of getting old but I seem to stay up later and get up earlier these days. Do you ever feel like there's just not enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done? I feel like sometimes that I could just stay up twenty four hours and still not accomplish everything that needs doing.
Sorry. I'm just a little stressed tonight. Workplace is really getting me down these days. I feel overwhelmed sometimes. But, I keep going, because I have so many people depending on me to make a living. My first priority is to my family and making sure they all have roofs over their head, and food in their stomachs.
Don't take this the wrong way. I don't support my kids or anything. They have their own lives and jobs for the most part. But, I just feel like I have to be ready for that moment when they might need me.
Well, enough ranting from me. I guess it's time to hit the sack. Good night bloggers! Hope all is well in your world.
God bless.

Drive-Ins
As a kid I remember my favorite day of the week was Saturday night, because that's when my Dad took us to the drive-in theater. At that time there were two Drive-ins in town that i remember, Circle 25, and the Family Drive-In. Of course there was also the Skyvue Drive In that is still in business today.
I took my youngest Son, his girl friend, my daughter, granddaughter and my three year old grandson to the drive in this past weekend. We had a blast! The two movies playing were Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Captain America. Everybody had a great time out under the stars on a beautiful Summer night.
I recommend everybody should go to the drive in at least a couple of times in the summer. It's a great outing with your family, and a great value too!

Helping your kids be successful in life!
Well, I've raised them up in the Lord like the Bible said to do, but I'm realizing it don't stop when they're grown ladies! Take for instance, my 22 year old today. He is out of town working. he texts me to call the pawn shop and get an extension on his monthly payment of something in pawn. My youngest son just borrowed some change to get something or another. I'm a taxi driver for my kids and grand-kids, and a babysitter most weekends! Oh how fun it is to be a grandma in the 21st century!
But getting back to the title of this blog. If you want your kids to be successful in life, then support them in every way you can to reach their dreams, not your dream for them. If they are going to be successful, they have to like what it is they are doing, right? Love them. Pray daily for them. Be there for them when they need a shoulder to cry on. They will love you, and they will be successful.
